We are an experienced electrical
contractor based in the UK. Electrical contracting is defined
as the installation of cables, wires and accessories for the
purpose of carrying electrical power from the point of generation
or transmission to the end user. The electrical contracting market

New legislation calling for electrical safety to become part
of the UK Building Regulations will have a significant impact

costs for many firms, forcing some micro or one-man operations

Approved Part P of the Building Regulations for England and Wales,
where from January 2005 all electrical work in dwellings (generally
houses and flats) will become subject to statutory requirements.
There are two legal requirements, as follows:
'Reasonable provision shall be made in the design installation,
inspection and testing of electrical installations in order to
protect persons from fire and injury.'
'Sufficient information shall be provided so that persons
wishing to operate, maintain or alter an electrical installation
can do so with reasonable safety.'
