Demand for electrical contracting is driven by the level of activity in areas of the construction industry, in particular, housing, industrial and commercial building, the public sector, infrastructure, and repairs, maintenance and refurbishment. Industrial construction accounts for approximately a quarter of the value of all commercial building, reflecting the demand of factory and industrial premises compared with offices. Nevertheless, the manufacturing sector remains of great importance to electrical contractors who are capable of performing the most complex cable and wiring tasks on the larger project.
David Sykes Electrical carries out a wide variety of industrial electrical installation. These cover lighting installations, power installations, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems, building management systems, control systems, data infrastructure cabling and low voltage jointing.
We provide industrial electrical installation services primarily to the construction and civil engineering industries for a wide variety of building work carried out above and below ground. The work is undertaken on the behalf of the main contractor's clients engaged in manufacturing, distribution, commercial, government and local authority services, and includes new work as well as repairs and maintenance.

- carry out industrial electrical installation work to recognised industry standards;
- employ competent electricians who are properly supervised;
- use materials of good quality that conform to relevant British Standards;
- undergo regular inspection by NICEIC Inspecting Engineers;
- be bound by the NICEIC Complaints Procedure and Guarantee of Standards.
On completion of any new work, a full test and inspection procedure is undertaken before the installation is commissioned and finally handed over with drawing and operating manuals as required.
