"Since David Sykes Electrical was founded in
1949, our principal objective to provide quality services
at value for money prices to the construction industry
has not altered. Our success is based upon bringing
tangible benefits to our clients and by continually
seeking to exceed their expectations. We recognise that
customer needs are paramount and that we must work with
our clients to bring their aspiration to fruition. It
is a partnership approach that helps transform vision
into reality."
Andy Sykes, Managing Director
To assist main contractors and other clients retain their competitive advantage by providing them with a comprehensive range of electrical and mechanical services at a profit by ensuring:
high quality workmanship;
price competitiveness;
high grade customer care packages.
David Sykes Electrical has built its reputation on co-operation and collaboration as opposed to claims and confrontation. Our method of working is specifically designed to identify potential difficulties at an early stage allowing more time to instigate cost effective solutions without adversely effecting planned progress. Queries are raised in a straightforward, non-contractual manner with alternative solutions for consideration. Programmes include a detailed analysis of pre-commencement procedures, which are monitored weekly using our standard progress reporting system.
The financial controls of our projects' form a central part of our overall management systems. Changes affecting our works are recorded in writing using pro-forma documentation. Monthly applications for payment include a full summary of the anticipated final account value, with an analysis of the current status of all additions and revisions. All of this is carried out in a proactive manner with frequent discussions preferred to heavy correspondence.
We recognise the need to properly plan site activities and will always seek to ensure that we fully understand the specific construction sequence, so that our works can be cost effectively integrated into the overall planning process. Once a master programme has been agreed, we use progress-reporting computer packages to identify any slippage at an early stage so that corrective measures can be proposed whilst there is still time to do so.
