David Sykes Electrical

David Sykes Electrical is one of the region's long-standing independent electrical contractors providing electrical services for public and private sector customers in domestic, commercial, industrial and leisure markets. Our activities include project management, design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning of mechanical, electrical control and instrumentation systems.

The origins of the company began in 1949 upon the start of self-employment by David Sykes. The early years consisted of relatively steady growth of the company with housing, leisure and agricultural industries providing the main source of work. In 1976 the company became Limited when David Sykes (Whitley Bridge) Ltd became established. The company continued to expand into other industrial sectors culminating in a position where commercial and industrial work dominates the annual turnover of the company. Today, we remain a family owned company. In 2001, Andy Sykes joined the company as Managing Director, supported by David Sykes in his new position as Chairman. Under the new leadership, new business systems and a new trading name of David Sykes Electrical have been introduced.

Over the years our reputation has grown in line with our ability to add value to the construction process by providing cost-effective solutions based on service, quality and professionalism. Operating from purpose built offices in Whitley Bridge, adjacent to Junction J34 on the M62, that links to the nearby A1, M18 and M1 motorways, we are able to offer a comprehensive range of M&E services across the North of England and the Midlands. An experienced team, assisted by the very latest computer systems and procedures, closely manages the company.
