Electricity is part of everyday life, whether in the
home, in commerce or in industry. The benefits it gives
to our lives is however dependent upon the correct design,
installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
Suprisingly, there is no legal requirement for the qualification
of individuals and companies undertaking such work to
comply with a given standard of quality and safety.
Therefore, clients requiring such services have to make
their own assessment of the competence, reliability
and integrity of the company they may seek to employ.
David Sykes Electrical can offer peace of mind in having
the accreditation of the National Inspection Council
for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC), the
Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), Joint Industry
Board (JIB) and Constructionline. David Sykes Electrical
can safeguard your interests by offering the following
services and conditions:
- All work undertaken to British Standards.
- All electricians are trained to BS 7671 regulations.
- Qualified electricians graded by the Joint Industry
Board (JIB).
- Provision of a warranty and bond.
- Inspection on demand service.
- Provision of completion certificates.
- Up to minute knowledge and implementation of safety,
technical, commercial and legal requirements for installation
work.
David Sykes Electrical recognises the importance of
a quality assurance system to provide improved control
of key processes to ensure quality and manage growth.
The company is therefore committed to achieving accreditation
to BS EN ISO 9002.

David Sykes Electrical firmly believe in staff development
and are committed to achieving the Investors in People
certification.
The JIB lays down the apprenticeship scheme and we
have used this as the basis for training our apprentices
over the years. The apprenticeship scheme is generally
regarded as being one of the finest within the industry.
Our electricians are measured by their academic and
practical performance and are regularly assessed by
City and Guilds. We are fully supportive of all our
electricians and will help them wherever we can through
their training.
We have a programme of ongoing training for all our
staff, focussed on the ever-changing requirements of
our industry. It is also important that our management
continues to learn as it progresses, therefore we have
training programmes in place to assist our improvement.

The quality of our materials we purchase and supply
are crucial to the quality of the work that we are able
to deliver to our customers. We source the vast majority
of installation materials from our four main partner
wholesalers who are committed to giving us the highest
levels of personal service.
The materials we source are of the highest quality.
We will not compromise quality to achieve lower prices.
We have always used materials to the standards dictated
by the British Standards Institute unless a higher specification
is required.

We have a policy of purchasing the highest quality of
plant and test equipment from our partner suppliers.
Our quality systems then require that we test the performance
of these items on a regular basis. If an item becomes
unsafe, it is either disposed of or repaired. With quality
controlled test equipment there is a continually monitored
calibration compliance programme.

We have a policy of complete financial prudence. We
reinvest our profits to improve both the depth and range
of services that we are able to offer our clients. We
invest in our business so those customers can invest
their faith in us.

David Sykes Electrical are keenly aware that the supply
of a service does not end at the completion of a contract.
Therefore after-sales support such as technical, service,
maintenance and follow up are essential considerations.
David Sykes Electrical will endeavour to offer the highest
standards and the most comprehensive service.
